Beware! There are hundreds of web sites offering 'lists of lists' of other web sites relating to learning technology. Most of them have the same - or nearly the same - links, and you could spend hours clicking from one to the next without becoming any the wiser. The web sites listed below all have something substantial to offer.
The Theory into Practice Database - although not directly related to learning technologies has summaries of educational theories, links and references. It is very well presented - a very good resource.
Teaching and Learning on the Internet from the University of Colorado at Denver is perhaps the world's top site for up-to-date learning technology information. Scroll down past the 'resources' to the 'readings' section for some of the best articles in this field.
Instructional Technology Connections is the parent site to this one, putting learning technology in a wide range of theoretical and critical contexts. Fundamentally it is a list of links but they are the links you really need.
ERIC Higher Education Digests: short articles on topical subjects in HE learning and teaching, from the National Teaching and Learning Forum in the US. This is part of a national information service supported by the US Department of Education and National Library of Education.
CMC Information Sources: the renowned 'December list' of the theories, practices and web sites at the cutting edges of instructional technology. Despite the title it includes a lot of material on the world wide web, which the author sees as primarily a medium for communication.
Teaching and Learning on the WWW: simply a database of examples and case studies. This has the virtue that the majority relate to HE courses (unlike many similar US sites) but you still need to be quite selective.
Funderstanding: an online introduction to various learning theories and their application.
LTDI Brite Ideas Online: a database of ideas for using C&IT in higher education, focusing on educational aims and outcomes rather than on the technologies themselves. Not much depth of analysis, but an excellent introductory tool.
