Contact Details

With the completion of the project, the office has now closed.  However, you can still contact the following people who were involved in key aspects of the SHELL Project.  Although in reality the team worked collaboratively in all areas, we have indicated the main divisions of responsibility so that you can see who might be the best person to contact.

Terry Rourke

Project Manager

Terry managed the SHELL Project, with responsibility for the development and implementation of the SHELL Project Plan and co-ordination of the team leaders and technical partners.

Terry developed the project plan and memorandum of agreement with consortium members, which included provision for compliance with the Data Protection Act.  He liaised with Phosphorix, ETL Solutions and Wynne Rees over development of ioNode, the main technical product from the project. (Information on ioNode can be found at www.ioAgent.org). Terry carried out acceptance tests on ioNode and the associated student portal.

Terry is currently carrying out consultancy for the PDP4Life project being led by the University of Bournemouth.

Maureen Leslie

Business Analysis and Implementation

Maureen led the business analysis and implementation aspects of the project, producing a cross institutional document detailing re-designed business processes

This involved liaison with partners from both phase one and phase two, project team members, and software suppliers.

David Croot

Standards

David led the Standards Team which was collectively responsible for developing and agreeing a cross-institutional learner record.

This involved orchestrating dialogue between colleagues at partner institutions who had an interest in PDP processes and some awareness of the emergent IT systems in FE and HE which were developing to support learners and teachers. The team completed the specification and implementation of an inter-operable formal record of learning, accessible via a learner portal.

David is now working towards the specification of the informal aspects of the Learner Record within the JISC-funded "PDP4Life Project"

Jon Yorke

Evaluation and Dissemination

Jon led the evaluation and dissemination aspects of the  SHELL Project.  This included the development of an evaluation and dissemination strategy at the bidding stage, and its subsequent implementation across the partnership network.

The evaluation role involved designing and managing a cross institutional 'sign off' process for the evaluation of product deliverables, establishing and securing agreement for evaluation criteria. This role included organising interim stage and final stage evaluation with external consultants.

The dissemination role encompassed the development of the project video, logos, newsletters, briefing papers, posters, and conference publications.  Jon continues to manage the SHELL Project website.
